This year for our annual DUP Convention held on Feb. 27th, the two companies were combined... the first time since our split 3 years ago. Although it was a bit crowded, it was nice to see friends from the other group.
Denice Wheeler was our guest speaker from International DUP. She was a delightful person to meet and to hear talk. (She's the one in the foreground with the red scarf.) She commended both our companies on how well we have been functioning... especially our community outreach (of which I am the coordinator... so that was nice to hear). A lot of companies don't even do it.
It's was hard to get the overall view, but there is a display of aprons hung all around the room. A lady from the other company offered to display her collection of aprons. What was displayed is only part of the 2,000 aprons she has collected! There was a big variety... lace, simple, decorative, practical, colorful... a truly amazing display! It went with our theme of service not only by our pioneer ancestors, but also by us today... just grab an apron and get to work! Everyone was asked to donate one apron for this event. They were all wrapped and made into a centerpiece, and then at the end, we each got to take one home.
